Cleaner Marina Day - Waiting for the tide............,

100 boats are participating

Dear participants

It is only a few more days before we all get together at Harbour City in
Port Klang to clean up the Klang River and we would like to give you a few
more details and some more information about the day.

First of all we trust you all know in the meantime that due to an
overwhelming response, we had to move the event from the original venue, the
Royal Selangor Yacht Club (RSYC), to the Harbour City, next to the Pulau Ketam Jetty, only a few hundred meters down the road from the RSYC and just
opposite the Port Klang train station. This venue has more space, car parks
and easier access for the fishing boats.

The following is our agenda and time schedule:

7.30 am     -  Registration of participants and hand out of goodie bags
8.30 am     -  Welcome and instruction
9.00 am     -  Boarding the boats and start of the clean up campaign
12.00 pm   - Clean up campaign finishes
12.30 pm   - Celebration and hand out certificates
1.00 pm     -  Mingle with food and drinks
3.00 pm     -  Finish

You will be provided with T-shirts which you have to wear during the day,
life jackets when entering the boats and rubber gloves for picking up the
rubbish. Each fishing boat will also have hooks, scoops, nets and rubbish
bags to make the clean up process easier. We also have a high SFP sun
protection available, drinking water and we will provide breakfast and lunch
for you. Each participant will be allocated a team leader who is available
for questions, guidance and help.

Please note the 'DOs and DONTs ' below as a guideline for the day:

DOs

*       Wear proper attire during clean up activities - covered shoes &
             old clothes.

*        Wear provided gloves as a protective layer.

*          Flag and call-in trash that needs special handling.

*          Leave trash at designated pick up areas.

*        Handle sharp objects with care.
